The sun is shining, the wind is blowing a gale, and just 2.4% of British electricity is coming from fossil fuels. See the live data at https://grid.iamkate.com.
Hopefully in a week and a half I will have an end fed half wave up for 80m along with a slightly higher pole for my VHF stuff.

Just worked Angola on 10m FT8.

It's good to be back on air and yes, I know it's FT8 but a contact is a contact.

Cloudlog updated. Did it manually as git pull wasn't working. IMO it really needs a way to do this in the GUI.

Also looked at eQSL for the first time in years and it looks like it never left the 1990s!

Just worked Morocco and Italy on 30m FT8.

As good as FT8 is, I wish more people used the other data modes.

Anyway, I'm being heard on the US east coast which isn't bad going with my bit of wet string

For those who haven't seen an earlier reply, the fault has been found.

There was a high impedance air gap between transformer and antenna element. Ergo, the element fell off the impedence transformer!

I feel like such an idiot!

Good news: FT-450D is not faulty.
Bad news: I shall be surrendering my intermediate and full licences immediately 😂
HF band conditions are all over the place today
I'm helping my club (Southampton) run this and I am currently on the mic
