When I clicked the Forkiverse link it told me I couldn't see anything until I signed up here so I did, but now I have 2 profiles on Mastodon? Is it better to have 2 profiles or one? ilu!!!!!!

This is a great question from Taylor. My answer is that you should always be Fediversemaxxing. The Forkiverse is my third Fediverse account after Mastodon and Threads and I'm just getting started.

You can always merge multiple accounts and get all their followers to follow this one account, later.
I found using #Mastodon with multiple accounts easiest with the app @megalodon, because you may for every action decide, with which account to do it.

You can also follow Lemmy communities using a Mastodon account. For instance, @procycling - if you're into that thing.

I have two mastodon profiles (the original one I created on mastodon.social and my own), a Pixelfed account and a micro.blog account... all four are fediverse "accounts".
Each one has different uses but all are interoperable and I can even follow my photos account from my blog for example.

@taylorlorenz Mastodon’s UI is pretty unhelpful in this case. I was able to follow Casey’s (and others’) Forkiverse account from my existing mastodon profile. The fact that mastodon automatically says you need to sign up is confusing IMO, because it ignores the possibility that you have an account on another server
