Paul CantrellMinneapolis resident here. You really don’t want him for president: he’s an absolute nincompoop, terrible at running things, just an endless parade of floundering and delay and administrative incompetence, and has repeatedly caved to local money whenever money comes calling. His record is mostly one of floundering and inaction; he’s only narrowly won reelection by convincing white people that his opponents would abolish the police overnight. But he is at least generally pretty good at saying the right things in defense of immigrants and against the far right, and was in especially good form today. It’s the first time in quite a while I can remember being happy that he was my mayor.

I half expect another video of him taking a walk of shame out of a protest, but maybe he learned his lesson on that one.

Unlike Walz, Frey is actually knee deep in the Feeding Our Future fraud, in addition to all the other incompetence of his administration you mentioned. But yes, he’s pretty and is capable of stringing together words in a pretty way.
