A few folks have asked about the new Dell 52” 6kish display. It's interesting but I have a feeling its DPI is in a super oddball zone that'd look kind of terrible on Mac. Price is also pretty crazy. This is a super niche display, not really sure who its for but not me.

@paul I feel the same about 27-32” 4K displays.

@paul I saw the announcement and was excited (though I have no plans on paying $3k). It even has the same vertical resolution as a Studio Display.

Then I saw that 126ppi number.

I can’t believe Retina is still so rare in 2026.

@paul I just want a whole raft of 27" 5K monitors around the £200-300 mark. So easy to get a 27" 4K but the scaling artefacts annoy me occasionally. I run as "like 1440p" so it's rendered at 5K then downscaled to 4K. I know "looks 1080p" is a perfect 2:1 scaling but my god is the UI all jumbo and hilarious. I'm only 37 so my eyes haven't started degrading yet.
@paul There are 55inch 8K televisions, which is pretty much 4x 27inch 4K screens. This is ~165ppi, so not perfect retina ~215ppi, but honestly, with my eyes, at 3 feet distance, I can’t tell a difference anymore.
