Anybody have a favorite card game to play with their kids? My kids are between 10 and 14. We have long since passed the age where Go Fish isn’t much more than a running joke.

I’ve got Old Maid and Rummy in mind but I’m curious about others. I know in Germany there is like another timeline of card games, if it can be played with a standard 52 card deck then I’m also happy to hear about it. We might have a Skat deck around but I’m not sure.

@photex you don't need a special deck for Skat, it is played with a 32-card subset of the standard 52 cards deck (A, K, Q/D, B, 10, 9, 8, 7 - though the scoring is different)

Edit: though I've played all of the Skat I've played in my life between 16 and 20.

@mmby good to know! I’ve never played it. Only heard that’s it’s a thing and we got a deck from somewhere because I think my son played it on a school trip.
@photex it's a very interesting game (rules/victory conditions vary according to an initial betting round for who chooses the conditions, then it's 1 vs. 2) but that betting and the variations in scoring can be confusing at first
