At a great cost to my sleep, I beat Tainted Grail...It's a game, that could've been better with a bit of investment and more developer assistance. The story is actually interesting, especially the spin on the Arthurian Cycle. However, the game world is SO rough and feels cobbled together.

You can tell they tried to make this game graphically appealing, at least this world lives up to the idea of the survivors of a once great civilization living in the ruins of grandness.

However, the graphical fidelity is muddy, textures seem smeared on, and there are random disappearing chunks of ground. Sad, which made me give it a 2 1/2 stars. Story is held back by the technical instability of constant crashes and texture loading issues that marred my personal immersion. Ah well, maybe that studio will nail their next game (if they have another game).

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds ohh I loved that game, the story and lore had me scribbling notes and re-reading descriptions. I haven't played the second one, which I'm guessing is the one you played. it's sad that it's too rough on the technical side, but I'm still curious about how much new lore they added.

@alphonzs This one: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1466060/Tainted_Grail_The_Fall_of_Avalon/

I didn't think it was part of a continuity of any sort (aside from being inspired by the Arthurian Cycle). I think they built their own mythos around Arthur, not necessarily adding specific canon lore. Putting twists on various factions and groups that exist in Avalon; building a solid reason why the empire failed and was reduced to a shadow of it's former self.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds yeah, they made another game before, Tainted Grail: Conquest, it's a roguelike deck-building that is set in the same world, they've also created some boardgames.
@alphonzs Ah, that roguelike deckbuilder didn't seem like it was part of the continuity...Kinda random to me, however, I am a goose on the loose so. Yeah, well that's interesting. I probably won't play it because people noted similar issues that Fall of Avalon suffers from.
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds oh yeah, it was dark and rough, although I didn't experience any technical issues. Sadly games are like that now, few run smoothly regardless of the system.

@alphonzs Yeah, it does look rough and a bit dark (I don't mind dark themes in games...).

I made the assumption because of my experience with Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon, it would be technically flawed. As a lot of games aren't optimized for any platform in some cases, they get rushed out the door...
