does anyone know of a 100% solar-powered (even if it's intermittently available a la solar.lowtechmagazine.com) Mastodon server? i am somewhat interested in moving off the mastodon.social server to either something more local or more decentralized, and a solar social server would be a cool experiment to take part in. (i have very few followers, so re-post if you feel the mood to boost reach!)

Sorry if it's not exactly what you ask but mastodon.green is running on green energy and plant trees with part of the donations. Ask @JohanEmpa

@adelgado @locustangerine A while ago I came across an off-grid solar powered website. The person behind that project could possibly know.

Here's the project page: https://stfn.pl/blog/80-solar-website-with-custom-backend/

and he's on Mastodon @stfn

How I built an off-grid, solar powered webserver and exposed it to the Internet

With the help of Wireguard and the Sun, I can host webpages on my own Raspberry Pi

@JohanEmpa @adelgado @locustangerine thank you for the mention :) https://solarcene.community and https://compost.party are solar powered Mastodon instances

A friendly #solarpunk inspired mastodon instance running fully on solar power (OrangePi 5, network switch, network router). Please note that this is a test instance so uptime cannot be guaranteed!
