I understand Trump's base because I was raised by it. A lot of the liberals on your TV have literally no exposure to labor class fascists, don't understand how they think. One of the reasons I knew Trump would ranch the neocons was because I knew how much rank and file Republicans were not saying in public, but were saying around the kitchen tables.

They know they lost the culture war, and long ago decided that if democracy couldn't preserve open white supremacy, they were done w/it.

And that at the end of the day is the handle I think most analysts who aren't from the labor class and don't know how labor class fascists think are missing.

The base is a lot more extreme than the politicians who represent them. And while Obama being elected isn't WHY we're here, it's also the moment you could no longer argue in fascist circles that the best way to win the "war" is convincing people you're right. Democracy failed them by electing a black president - so it must be destroyed.

@AnarchoNinaWrites the wild part is them still crying "liberty" and "freedom." The only rights they care about are the "rights" to deprive other people, whether it's their neighbors, or even their own children. And romanticizing "personal responsibility (when they are often deluded about how hard they work)" and "the good ol (nonexistent) days" is how they make sense of it in their minds. I knew a kid in school who hated racial minorities because they were "stealing" "her" welfare

@thecyberwitch @AnarchoNinaWrites stealing the word "freedom" is the one of the very few tricks that fascists know. Here in Europe if "freedom" is in the name of a political party or if they talk about "freedom" most of the time, you can be ~90% sure they are fash. And white people are either too dumb and keep falling for it, or they find it to be a convenient excuse for the fcked-up things they want to do.

@matus_chochlik @thecyberwitch @AnarchoNinaWrites It's not always that people are too dumb, it's that what they want is more money and the same parties conveniently promise they will have that too.

They don't care one way or another who falls under the bus in the process of them getting what they want.
