So #bandcamp is boght by #epic , creators and buyers are looking for #alternatives now.
Here I try to collect some if my thoughts on #BandcampAlternatives
1. For me as a buyer, it is not about streaming. Its about buying music #mp3 I can download and keep. I also want artists get most of the money I pay.
2. I dont need a platform, it could be #DirectTrade : I paypal you , the creator, 10 €, you e-Mail me a download link.

3. Theres not so much special about #music - its #DigitalProduct . If it is audio, video, #ebook, #eLearning, #games, images or whatever should not matter that much. That being said, any platform letting you sell digital product should do.
4. I don't know what general platforms there are, years ago I heard of itch.io ( its intended for games, but works for everything ? ) #itch #itchio .

5. If we use a platform, it should have a valid and lasting, sustainable business model. It should not be #vcFunded . idealy, the owners should not be able to sell it.
The platform being owned by the creators (and consumers) using it, would be great. A #coop model might do that, #platformCoop is the right term I think ( think examples like #fairmondo, #fairBnB or #comradery .)

6. Speaking of #comradery , if you want to sell a subscription model ( think like #patreon ) you already might be very happy with @comradery ( us only, as of now ) .

7. If you want a #marketplace ownend by its users, its allready there, up and running for many years: #fairmondo.de . They are also in the Fediverse: @Fairmondo . Please not: its not realy made for #DigitalProduct so you would need to take care of hosting your files and providing download links yourself (like with the #DirectTrade-idea) , but they would help with handling discovery and payment . ( mainly / only operating in Germany )

8. With platforms, I thinky many people (me included) dont want it to hype/endorse #nft and other #cryptoBullshit . I think #gumroad was recently going down that way

9. Oh, how could I miss that: a solution between the manual #DirectTrade and just using a platform might be creators setting up or using their own shops. Like @viennawriter selling her #eBooks via her own #AuthorsBookstore ( #AutorinnenBuchShop ) , based on a ticketing-software ( #pretix ? ) I think?
