@ahorn Is the star with only ch32v003 strips using unmodified strips? Or do you reflash then to make them only stay in meteor mode?
@robertfoss there are two options. Either setting the solder jumper on the back for external output (the ch32 has no function then for the leds) or as it is on most of the stars at #39c3 the ch32, the code waits for 1sec, if an external signal is on the line it does nothing otherwise it starts its own animation

@ahorn Ok, so the unmodified ch32 cob strips cannot be made to only animate meteor mode?

I did see that shorter ch32 cob strips only have the meteor animation mode, but they aren't so nice looking :p

@robertfoss ah, yeah the shorter one are of the shelf and I don't know which controller it is, they are also only single color
@ahorn I'm tempted to use the off the shelf ones for laziness reasons, but also I kinda like how the silicon diffuses the light nicely.
@robertfoss yeah, that effect is realy nice, I wanted to try to coat the rgb ones with silicon as well, but till know I am not sure how this could work at a small scale with nice outcome and reasonable effort :D
@ahorn I actually have done some silicone casting in 3d printed molds. It's definitely doable, but also a pain in the ass. I used silicones from trollfactory.
