Hey everyone! 👋 I’m looking for recommendations for an open source alternative to Letterboxd, to try and track more of my film watching. I’ve been pretty lax on Letterboxd for the last 3 years 😬

I’d ideally just like something to keep track of what I’ve watched, when, and to record a brief score/review, if appropriate. I suppose I could just keep track of something locally, but I’d prefer not to have to add all the film details and it might be good at some point to connect with like-minded film folk!

Thanks in advance for any tips.

@brian I recently went down this rabbit hole for tv shows to get off trakt and what I will say is make sure any site you try has an export button somewhere before you start investing time in it. Because most don't, including well-reviewed non-corporate options.

@anarchaeopteryx

Thanks. That’s good advice!

@brian I've been burned too many times by new, well-designed sites that seemed run by nice people shutting down abruptly, or getting bought by some hedge fund, or simply stop responding to email. So I wish more indie web sites would make export a priority feature, it just shows good forward planning. 😮‍💨 Anyway, good luck in your search!
