I haven’t studied the bills yet but broadly I agree with the intent to proceed with small fixes that have broad support. Is it enough? No. Does it help those who most need it? No. But it is a small step forward on a very long and difficult journey and hopefully breaking the logjam will increase interest in more substantive improvements.
@Lyle would like to see the state minimum wage increased to like ~$25 with COL updates baked in.
@griesar I suspect that might make them more concerned about cost of living
@Lyle the only solution leaders have to keep col down is to keep wages low and meter benefits to those on poverty wages. Would like to see a solution that didn’t force more people into welfare programs. Financial agency is more ethical than welfare imo.
