We’ve reached a point in dead internet where AI is responding to support forum threads from 14 years ago with `sfc /scannow`. Even if this is intended to summarise the thread, it’s entirely hallucinated things that weren’t discussed. Nobody mentioned reinstalling DirectX, and Legacy Update didn’t exist 14 years ago!

Because these are generated based on Usenet threads, tons and tons of these exist. The issue being, nobody uses Usenet any more. So you get things like the AI (probably GPT 5 mini) suggesting a Windows 98 user in 2004 follow instructions it acknowledges as being for modern Windows.

So glad we’re missing carbon targets for this.

@icraze ugh I put off doing a RAM upgrade, now I won’t be doing it till 2027 it seems. DDR4 so I’m not so sure prices will go down since production is supposed to be winding down

@kirb yeah I guess I'll be waiting a bit longer before switching off AM4... gives time for GTA 6 to release at least
