Please let this be a prompt to check your smoke alarms and also to think about whether you have the things you need in your home to discover fire and get away quickly. Are your doorways cluttered? Is half of your home out of range of your detector? I have no idea if these things would have helped Nu and her family but let this be a prompt for you to think about whether your home meets your safety standards, and to fix it if it does not.
