@kf npr link, from Oct according to the slug. Screenshot/Preview mentions npr, but also USAtoday (I don’t know/think we did stuff for npr) but it has a timestamp for yesterday.

Weird.

Think about legal documents and filings where USPS first-class mail is privileged in some regards (assumed delivered if deposited, deadlines determined based on date of deposit rather than receipt, things like that) and the laws specify "deposit", not "postmark".

Also something I was told by a lawyer way back and may not hold anymore: regular first-class mail is privileged while certified and registered mail is not.
