The ‘game’ is playing with your mod load order until you find a combination that doesn’t crash.
Then you add more mods and play the ‘game’ again.
I played on the Xbox 360.
That was the experience without mods.
10/10. Would crash again. Never really felt the need to play a Bethesda game since. Which is handy because there’s only been like two.
I had a roommate that only console gamed, and I just couldn’t understand it. how tf do you play Skyrim for over 600 hours with a controller? I’d go nuts from input restrictions.
same guy only played Minecraft that way. blew my mind.

Maybe I’m odd, but I related heavily to this meme without thinking of porn mods. I’ve played hundreds, probably thousands of hours in Skyrim across various platforms, almost all without mods. Even the creation club nonsense in the anniversary addition I find annoying and half-baked- I wish there was a way to revert back to plain old Special Edition.
To me the feeling of loading up Skyrim for 15 minutes at a time several times a day means… I’m not doing well. It means that I don’t have the mental capacity to seek out or learn a new game. That I’m probably looking for something comfortable and familiar to make me feel better. And while Skyrim is that, sometimes I load up a save and see that I’m about to start a dungeon and the prospect just seems overwhelming. Or I’m over encumbered and need to spend a bunch of downtime crafting, trading, and organizing inventory.
It’s the kind of behavior that, over an extended period, could be a sign of depression.
Mods are fun. Half the time I start the game and I begin experiencing intermittent crashing, and now have to test each mod individually to find out which one is the culprit. Is it any of the Beyond Skyrim mods? No. Is it the archery rebalancing mod? Nope, not that one. Hmm… my high-res hair mod has caused problems before. Uh… not this time. Could it be the one that redoes the entire College of Winterhold? No, thank the gods.
Two hours later… it’s the mod that makes goats scream. Ffs. That was my favourite one!
