AI sloppers out there just pretending everything we learned about technical debt in the last few decades isn't real
@eniko "chatgpt, please remove the technical debt from this codebase"

@ratsnakegames @eniko I’m actually a bit curious to if it would remove all the code or not. Seems like the type of stack overflow troll response it could regurgitate for a prompt like this.

Bonus points if it would then delete the remote repo, and erase all backups.

@ratsnakegames @eniko So, `rm -rf .`?

@naiyer Nah. That's removing the french locale. And should be written `rm -fr /`

@ratsnakegames @eniko You’re absolutely right! The code base has become hard to maintain. Let me see how I can remove the technical debt.
….
This is a major task. I would have to rewrite the entire program. Have you considered just not doing it?
…
Uhm okay. Let me pretend like i’m improving these files. Oh it does not build anymore! Let me restore from git and give up!
@meowki @eniko to be fair that's also basically how it goes whenever i want to do a large refactoring
@ratsnakegames @eniko The key is to add "...and don't add tech debt!" when you get it to write the code in the first place. :P
@ratsnakegames @eniko you are so right, here, pay money to get a technical credit. then you can pay your debt.
