Journey planner right now consistently returns 404 on every search attempt, unless you start with a new identity and chose "allow all" on the cookie banner
New attempt in morning right before the train: reaching the payment page and hitting 404 before redirection to the payment provider... a few times I managed to go through the whole 3ds and return-to-the merchant, and then it still displays a generic error. It's been almost 40' worth of trying to pay, over thir time the price went up from 56 to 103 euros and _it still fails to take the money_
Did I mention transportation companies cannot be allowed to implement "ticket" schemes or remove any passengers from their vehicles that aren't a health threat? First and foremost because they fundamentally incapable of doing it right?
Scratch that, not strict enough: passenger carriers _cannot be allowed_ to charge money. It never fucking works, it's always absolutely deranged: take HSL, they fuck up the MobilePay integration for several days at first without any warning or acknowledgement, or the app just don't feel like loading the ticket prices today, or they fuck up the station wifi, and they remove ticket machines, but oi! Ya must have a valid ticket before ya enter da traaaainah! Thems tha rules, must follow rules!
Then they come up with non-sense like "you must have your phone charged or be fined and removed sah"
Man I don't care about all your smartphone shit, I wanna get from point A to point B, and I granted you the right of exclusive access to time on this rail, get outta my way
HSL Seasonal Tickets aren't even about saving money, they're about save time you otherwise spend fighting payment systems, mobile apps, and "the doors closed 3s before you finished the transaction" ticket inspectors
Nearly five hours later: I've given up on bahn.de and switched to omio.com (which also hadn't dynamic-priced this route as much, idk how this is possible), which... was rejecting my card. I even tried a friend's Mac and their payments operator must've memoized the number and linked it to my VPN, because it rejected again. After the multi-hour torture, my pal clicked the "google pay" button on the mac and it went through immediately 🤮
Counting the last night, it's maybe 8 hours of constant fuckery, and 3x the original price for this leg

Was pleased to learn about "the house of tea", even though they seem to lack the teaware: no tooling to appoximate a gongfu-like set up, and I couldn't find where to heat the water up for puer (which they brought), because there was only a bunch of boilers for keeping water at 80C; I should try ask next time I'm there
