Prominent journalists from around the world have joined Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the #FreeFrenchieMaeCumpio coalition in signing an unprecedented joint letter to Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., expressing support for detained investigative journalist Frenchie Mae Cumpio and calling for her immediate release. Among the signatories are media directors, editors-in-chief, and senior editors from 35 countries and territories, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa.
