@alexwild congrats! And great to see another rediscovery thanks to #iNaturalist!
@alexwild amazing picture. Majestic beetle πŸ₯Ή
@alexwild
Congratulations! Wonderful image.
@alexwild *banging on table* WEEVIL, WEEVIL, WEEVIL

@alexwild

Allow me a bad joke... "That's definitely NOT the lesser of two weevils!" πŸ™„

Congratulations! Beautiful photo!

@alexwild They look like eggs in a nest almost.

Beech trees must be related to chestnuts, I’m thinking.

@alexwild That is a nice weevil.

Beautifully set up photo too.

@alexwild Wow. Engaging as well as beautiful, so it's really doing the job! Trying to imagine internal engineering of the weevil's incredibly long snout (can only assume that to be useful it must have moving mouthparts at the end, but how to exercise useful force along tiny extended bodypart?)

@alexwild at first glance I thought them was birds in a nest!

@alexwild

Oh wow! I'd never seen a picture of a chestnut weevil.
