Time to let the cat out of the bag: I've joined AiNekko

Specifically, I've joined the platform group, working on Numerics and ISA.

The work is being a relentless advocate for well documented, predictable compute.

Make it good, make it open, make it fast

This does of course mean I've parted ways with tenstorrent

TT is an interesting company that thrives on internal contradiction. I don't know that a company has ever earned the term "torrent" more.

I'll miss a large amount of the fine folks there, and I wish those that are advocating for, & actually care about developers the absolute best. You're fighting the good fight.

I look forward to the eventual tapeout of the Atlantis Developer platform. The Ascalon Core is legitimately fascinating, and likely to be the best RISC-V core you can buy

A lot of the engineering Talent at TT is top notch.

I'm hopeful for both selfish and holistic reasons that they can pull off what they've announced as their mission.

So what's on the horizon?

I'll be speaking on RISC-V and on accelerator design at #FOSDEM in a few short weeks!

I'll be taping out the first chip I had legitimate say over in Q1'26.

I'll be doing A LOT less business travel (over 185 days in 2025!)

@fclc Accelerators that are based on RISC-V? Either way, looking forward to the talk.

@willfurnass Both! I have 2 talks scheduled, one in the RISC-V devroom, one in the HPC and big data room!

The first is broadly on RV in the context of OoO processors, the second on the mapping of workloads to different problem classes

@fclc @willfurnass

looking forward to listening to recordings of both talks!
