Not long ago this would've just been low quality placeholder textures.

Gen AI is terrible in many cases, but to make placeholder assets, so people can concentrate on the stuff they want to achieve, is nothing I would criticize.

Being against something only because you are against it, is definitely helping…

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developer Sandfall Interactive is finding itself in hot water over its use of AI generated assets in developing the game.

@kaiserkiwi according to the article, these weren't placeholders, they were textures included in the game at release, that were replaced after people noticed and complained.

@Mr_Briney Replaced after 5 days. That's not enough time for a new game release, that wasn't planned already.

Replacing textures can still be a source of errors and has to be tested.
