I didn't know Texas did anything positive for its residents. My guess is, that Texas wants that data and will settle the cases, so the Texas government can snoop on the people to weed out the undesirables?

Texas is already collecting personal data on everyone and if you don't agree, you can't do your "required" business with the State.
