This really gets hilarious.
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 loses its Indie Game Award because of placeholder assets.

»Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched with what some suspected to be AI-generated textures that, as it clarified to El País, were then replaced with custom assets in a swift patch five days after release.«

Not long ago this would've just been low quality placeholder textures.

Gen AI is terrible in many cases, but to make placeholder assets, so people can concentrate on the stuff they want to achieve, is nothing I would criticize.

Being against something only because you are against it, is definitely helping…

The fun part is: There is no new voting. Everyone just jumps one place up. So these that voted for Expedition 33 but wouldn't have voted for the second place have no voice anymore in this?

Kind of weird. I would feel so extremely bad, if I had the first place now because of this.

@kaiserkiwi It's also sad for the second (now first, i guess) place. Everyone knows how you got this trophy and you did nothing wrong.

It's a sad story and everyone loses.
