we gotta be the change we want to see in the world

@caitp

I've watched the denigration of the USA since Feb 1991 when we started killing people for CRUD oil and from the street level since 2011 when I became homeless.

For decades, #homeless people have been made out to be drunk drug using mentally ill people. The war we are NOW seeing have been going on for decades. And July 24, even the feds started hunting and OKing murdering us.

Recently, I did a one man protest for 71 days against the sweeping of homeless people.

I say "one man" because in that 71 days, I've been told that (paraphrasing) homeless people have no US Constitution rights and that protesting FOR those rights are not helping.... By homeless people!!!

I recently wrote a "poem" for #StreetRoots called #TheSilenceContinues and trust me when I say imagrants have more rights than homeless people in #AmeriKKKa

@justbob it isn't lost on me, and I'll always be advocating and demanding to ensure everyone gets what they need, even if it means people at the top get a bit less power

but it's not enough for just a few people, everyone needs to participate in that

@caitp

It was very lonely sitting there all that time and getting shit on for it even by fellow homeless people.

Trump made it okay to kill us at the federal level and homeless deaths are climbing. Street Roots did a story about Portland deaths. Funny thing is the death rate went up the same time this mayor increased sweeping. I've seen stories from other cities too.

One, a guy shot 13 people in 2 camps and they didn't investigate but swept the camps, blaming the homeless people for getting shot.

771,000 homeless people in America as of last January. I'm absolutely certain the number will be a lot higher next month.
