One of the crappiest trends I’m seeing in my mentorship sessions today is people getting laid off from large corporations after 20-40 years of silo right now. It’s really appalling if not unexpected.

If you’ve been somewhere over 5, 10, 20 years it’s worth looking at your employability elsewhere.

I have to have a deeply uncomfortable conversation with people my age and older about how they’re missing essential skills ATS will automatically reject without. How they’ll look to the computer worse than a new grad. Don’t trust corporations. Never trust corporations.

@hacks4pancakes maybe it is a time to apply the principles of swaraj against the corporations, like Ghandi did to British institutions and industry in colonial India. Teach people what they can do themselves for their own community, with minimal or no reliance on the corporations.

Like the fedi-verse.
