Just watched the first ep of CASTLE ROCK and it did something I always try to do in my writing, which is have something do double duty. For instance, the mocking dialogue “you’re dripping” — referring to an ice-cream scoop — does one thing by showing us the speaker is an asshole, but it also establishes that the scoop is lubricated, so when it gets slammed down his throat you think “Yeah, that could work.”
