Mozilla’s new CEO is doubling down on an AI future for Firefox

Anthony Enzor-DeMeo says he thinks Mozilla and Firefox still have a role to play in the web, even as things shift toward AI.

I guess this is the worst possible analysis of the current situation. The ad #economy is the original sin of the web: it leads to the #attention economy, therefore to the commodification of #privacy, therefore to #clickbaits, therefore to “fake news”, therefore to the #polarization of public opinion, therefore to #populism, and so on until we are where we are.

It also leads to #BigTech gathering huge amounts of #data, therefore to #wealth and #power concentration, therefore to tech bros. Not to an “open” web.

Using #Firefox is one of those tiny things we do to fight. A shame its CEO doesn't get it.

(For real, we use @librewolf or @zenbrowser of course, both based -but dependent- on Firefox.)
