I just realized that my favorite part of writing fiction isn't necessarily the characters, or the plot, though both of these are important and fun. It's the description. I love sitting down and writing multiple paragraphs describing a monstrous boar. Or perfectly capturing the tense air of expectation in a palace as the servants wait for the king's return.

This definitely comes from my love of writing poetry.
