2/13/2026 UPDATE: I GOT MY FIRST PAYCHECK VIA DIRECT DEPOSIT TODAY!! WOOHOO!!!

This means I can stop begging for money! Thank you all so much for boosting and contributing to my family's survival over the last few months. You have no idea what a difference it has made. We could not have done this without you!

Hey, folks. I hate doing this, but my family and I need help with money for food & gas. This is unfortunately going to be a regular request until I can get a new job. (See my pinned posts for my resume.)

We average about $35/day for food (2 adults, 2 kids) and $10/day for gas, if we are being cheap. Dog food is $22/week. So we need around $335-$340 to make it through the week, making sure everyone is fed and gets to school. Any help, however small, is deeply appreciated.

We have just enough for dinner -- very tight, but doable. But we are completely out of dog food aside from what's in the bowl rn. Would anybody be able to help us out so our pooches don't go without?

We also habe another issue: Our car insurance has lapsed, and so has our vehicle registration. We need the vehicle in order to get the kids to school, since we are outside the bus routes, and in Texas, they impound your vehicle if you're caught driving without insurance. The registration being out makes it *way* more likely to be pulled over, so my wife is a nervous wreck (pardon the pun) every time she has to drive.

We need ~$300 total in order to get the insurance reinstated and cover the registration.

Right now we are subsisting on just enough money to eat and feed the dogs. Utility bills will be coming due soon, too, but they are less urgent right now.

Can anybody help us keep from falling deeper in the hole while I search for a job?

Please give this another boost, folks, if you don't mind. It would really help us out. This is high stakes for us.

Remember, you can unboost and then reboost again!

We got the dog food and dinner tomorrow covered, thanks to two very kind folks' help. We still need help with the other stuff, but I'm a lot less panicky because at least everyone will be fed

I have a job interview tomorrow at 10:30am. It would help a lot if I could afford something decent for breakfast tomorrow. $12 won't be enough to even afford dinner for the kids tonight.

If you wouldn't mind, please unboost/reboost the original post so this gets seen. I really appreciate it!

We are down to just $2 -- if we round up. I could really use a reboost of this, if you're willing to help us out. The upcoming job interview isn't until a week or two from now, but the family still has to eat in the meantime. Many thanks!

@hosford42 Sent you a small sum, hope it helps.
@LaChasseuse Thank you! It definitely does
