Slunk away from the work Xmas party early. Again.

The bad acoustics from the DJ that nobody was dancing to were hurting my ears, I had to shout to be heard and I could barely make out what other people were saying. No point staying there and paying over the odds for poor beer.

Annoyed that I didn't just leave a few minutes earlier so I could catch a better train, but at least I've had a couple of civilised pints with my own company.

Ah, the joys of Christmas.

I'll never understand why social events that are (or should be) primarily centered around conversation have to have loud music being played. Usually the only person present who wants the music as loud as it is, is the DJ.
Really frustrating for me with my degree of hearing impairment.
@elkster88 @paul_edwin and don't get me started on "sports bars", TVs everywhere you turn, along with the sound. The eyes just get drawn to it.
