@howtophil @kaliagainstallodds @benroyce @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86 Uh oh, looks like we found another one.
@howtophil @kaliagainstallodds @benroyce @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86 That post wasn’t for you. I already know you have your head too far up your own ass to see how your decision affects other people. I know not to waste my time trying to change your mind.
@scottmiller42 @kaliagainstallodds @benroyce @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86 Ooooo! Personal attacks on my character! So thrilling! /shrug
It's okay for people to have different ideas of how to accomplish things, to have different goals, and different priorities. I hope you grow out of your sense of self-satisfying pride someday and try to see things from another perspective :)
@howtophil @scottmiller42 @kaliagainstallodds @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86
But your "ideas" Phil amount to nothing but surrender to fascism
@scottmiller42 @benroyce @kaliagainstallodds @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86 You can't throw non voters into the other guy's bucket. That's not how voting works.
I could counter with "Congratulations on bringing Trump to power by not pushing for a real Democrat candidate to begin with"
Both statements are nonsense. Both are "thought-terminating cliches" meant to stop discussion. Cultish behavior.
@howtophil @scottmiller42 @benroyce @kaliagainstallodds @madameoconnel86
We need to know how many progressives stayed home over Gaza, vs how many MAGA meatheads stayed home figuring Trump had it in the bag so why miss dinner?
It is also very likely that if Biden had stayed out of Gaza, Harris would have defeated Trump by a margin big enough to make cheating difficult. While Trump is even worse than Biden on Palestine (Can you say "Genocide Don?"), the amount of nose-holding that would have been required to vote for Biden would have been simply incredible.
I honestly suspect Netanyahu actively prevented hostage deals and peace deals in the runup to the 2024 election simply to hand it to his buddy Trump. He did this knowing his own people held POW in Gaza would die under his own bombs.
While it is true that Harris didn't distance herself from Biden on Palestine, it was Biden's signature not hers on all those weapons deals.
I honestly figured if Harris won, the GOP would try to fight a civil war but lose, followed by the whole MAGA mess rotting away (feeding the maggots?) as generations turn over and white racists become minority voters.
Palestine was NOT on the ballot since Trump and Biden were both for the genocide, but it did send a lot of potential Dem voters home. This of course had ugly downballot consequences in places like the House, the Senate, state and local government, and referendums.
In a hypothetical ballot with Trump himself on both sides at the top slot, it may pay to ignore just that race and cast votes in downballot races for candidates who will fillibuster and block his bills if given the chance. A 51 vote majority in the Senate could have blocked all his SCOTUS nominees without even having to save the fillibuster etc. That would mean no Dobbs, which in turn might have pre-empted the whole anti-LGBTQ witch-hunt of the last few years.
@howtophil @benroyce @kaliagainstallodds @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86 Don’t be so modest. You literally said you didn’t support Harris because you wanted Democrats to learn to run more progressive candidates. If you had supported Harris and she had won, there’d be no reason to change. This is the result you wanted - a Democratic Party loss to reach them a lesson.
Congratulations on your successful campaign to reelect Donald J Turnip for President.
@scottmiller42 @howtophil @kaliagainstallodds @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86
you don't understand scott
all the suffering under 4 years of trump is meaningless
by not voting we taught the democrats a lesson!
isn't that far more meaningful?
btw, this backbiting bullshit is proof we really really care about serious problems in the world, uh huh, yup
it doesn't at all mean we're just shallow spiteful entitled assholes who will never show up for anything meaningful anyways, nope, nah
(/s)
@benroyce @scottmiller42 @kaliagainstallodds @LukefromDC @madameoconnel86 If non-voters were "just ignored," that would be one thing, but clearly the leverage they have is shown by how much others desperately want them to vote /shrug.
The statement made is "You can have my vote when you show me a reason to vote for you, not a reason to anti-vote the other guy," and it will (and already has) result in actual reasons to vote being brought to the table
