Been experimenting with Mac Dictation (not the one for texts and short sentences - rather the Accessibility>Voice Control version).

It is very close to the capabilities of Dragon Professional. The only lack seems to be retaining the audio, and transcription from audio. I may be able to manage with that.

Dragon still works fine, but is Windows only, and the sole reason I retain a Windows 11 PC. This could finally set me free from MicroSloth.

Will restrict myself to it this month and see how it works out. Very accurate so far, even using the built in MacBook mic.

@cflynnbooks If you find the accuracy to be lacking, and you need to use commands (e.g. "scratch that" to try saying a sentence again, or "make what I said more concise", and so on) give Wispr Flow a try, I love it. Yes, I am accustomed to that with Dragon Professional. It has some quite advanced voice control and editing abilities.

The enhanced Mac version works quite well. Used it for my Nifty350 this morning and saw no real issues. Dictating directly into Scrivener worked well, as it autosaves every few seconds.
