Any Australian over-16 folk been asked to verify their age yet? Will/did you if asked? If it uses some weird third party identity provider that scans your documents or biometrics? Any concerns?

@nygl Got asked on Discord of all places (they're not in-scope for the ban!). Went through with it, because allegedly the scans never leave the device.

My guess is they're using the fact no one has any idea what the fuck is going on to scoop up a heap of demographic data to increase ad revenue or something.

@brettbrooks @nygl Yep, in this case the video allegedly does not leave the device, they use some bullshit to guess your age and then presumably sort you into a cohort for marketing.

But yeah, that Discord. Also the Discord that is *out of fucking scope* for the u16 ban anyway.
