Riding Mountain: An Island of Wilderness

Riding Mountain National Park is a 'wilderness island' in a 'sea of agriculture.' On the Manitoba Escarpment, its high elevation creates an environment distinct from the prairies. This allows three ecosystems to converge: grasslands, upland boreal, and eastern deciduous forest, supporting a rich biodiversity found nowhere else on the plains. #Canada #RidingMountain #Manitoba #Ecosystems 🇨🇦

@Canadian_Eh cool!
I loved the Gaspé peninsula, where *7* ecosystems exist, one above the other, as one moves higher and higher!
At the top I saw bald eagles, fishing in a lake! :-)
@deborahh It's so cool when you can experience those ecosystem changes in person. Makes for a long day hiking to the top, but a great experience.
