Thomas ReedI can’t believe these scams are still around… but I guess why fix it if it ain’t broke, right? I wish I’d followed through and clicked the Remove Virus Now button, just to see where it would take me, but I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to play.
Okay, dug the page out of my history, and it’s still working. Here’s the app that it directs you to. Now I’m curious whether this is an abuse of an affiliate program (very common with these sorts of things) or if the developer (a suspicious “ALLPRO INTERIOR OU”) is directly responsible for this scam.
The page cited in the info about the app is leclean[dot]site, which appears not to exist. The domain seems to be owned, but no DNS records appear to exist for it in DNS lookups. It was first submitted to VirusTotal two days ago.
