It's good that we're making it easier for foreign doctors to stay in Canada, but what we really need is to make it easier for them to work as doctors.
@mpjgregoire Hey M, have you noticed this Post pending status? I've seen this a lot and assume it's part of the permission workflow for quote posts where the author of the quoted post has to approve the quoting, perhaps? Or is it something else?
I ask you since I see it on your post...
@mpjgregoire @Chigaze @virtuous_sloth Yes, I much prefer at least showing the bare URL even if a different fediverse server type hasn't clearly communicated permission or not to embed the quote post.
I know that the reason for permissions on quotes is to make it harder for bad actors (or even just oblivious ones) to direct their followers into harassing someone, but if you just posted a URL without using the quoting mechanism, the Mastodon client doesn't block it!
