One more day until Australians have to start proving they’re over 16 to have accounts on things.

Oops, I mean until children under 16 are prevented from having accounts on selected social media platforms.

I agree kids brains are prematurely rotting and being cooked on social media slop. I also believe many many young people are getting valuable and essential support on these same platforms.

Will the age verification magically start working properly tomorrow? I highly doubt it, but adults will suddenly realise how invasive and privacy threatening it is.

@nygl rather than this cack handed approach the govt should have put it back onto the platforms to improve safety - this way they get away with it

@nygl Most of the kids I know have already been asked to confirm and gotten around it. It’s the biggest waste of time and resources.
