In the last couple of days, on Windows only, using the Nord VPN app broke my access to editing functions on WordPress and images on Bluesky unless I turned off the feature that stripped out "tracking parameters used for marketing". Checking to see if anyone else has notices this or if this is a "me" problem, specific to my own computer. (It does not happen on Mac as far as I can see)

@scalzi Yeah, I'm seeing broken images on certain sites as well with Nordvpn enabled. So, not just you.

@scalzi I’ve had a different problem using Nord VPN, some sites prevent access when I’m on specific servers. But when I change countries it’s fine. Forgot to mention I’m on iPad.

@scalzi Wonder if it does the same thing if you replace the NordVPN privacy thing with Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin?

@scalzi I recommend consuming less snake oil. If you absolutely want a VPN, use something transparent like Mullvad.
(Even Cloudflare VPN has been known to break apps!)

@scalzi That's interesting. A couple of days ago images (including my profile image of Ivy) stopped appearing on Bluesky. I didn't know anything about "tracing parameters." I solved the problem by rebooting my (windows) computer. Incidentally, images were fine everywhere else!
