Just heard from a fraud examiner that some asshat using my name and likeness is running around defrauding elderly people. The person who alerted me to this said the fraudsters are actually picking up these poor folks and driving them to credit union branches to withdraw cash. According to Constella Intelligence, the phone number listed here is tied a Facebook account for someone who appears to reside in the Chicago area.

Exactly how stupid do you have to be to use my identity for something like this??

@briankrebs What seems deeply alarming is that someone sees the risks as low enough for physical presence within the typically cameraed-up premises of a bank branch as viable(or has a ready supply of expendable accomplices, which is almost as bad).

Obviously fraud is bad, full stop; but a willingness to do high-touch, in-person, videotaped fraud suggests a much more optimistic evaluation of the risks than just doing attempts at remote and hard to attribute.
