@9to5linux @jolla The pre-order price now seems to be 78.88 Euros. I've put my order in.

Yep, it's already hit the goal!
@9to5linux @me @kikeenrique @khleedril @jolla it looks like 2026 will be the year of the linux phone. A lot of work to do push this. But there is certainly interest in this phone. This is a phone with no compromises, its made with feedback from the community and priced just on a sweet spot to reach a large demographic. Well done @jolla
Now its time for an early adopters program. Send the phone out early and create a buzz online. Next thing they need to get right is #jollamind2 private Ai. If they get the commercial version to the same price or 399 euro. You have your package for 999 euro. Price of a regular flagship

Objectively speaking, there are compromises, and they in fact even detailed in a previous post the compromise on the screen size they needed to make due to needing room for the PCBA.

Commonly on the forums in the announcement thread, folks have provided a lot of feedback on:
1. No headphone jack, so folks with have to use adapters or splitters (to charge and use headphones at same time w/out bluetooth)
2. Missing wireless charging. Not particularly important for most, but useful for limiting charging speed. Fortunately the phone has a replaceable / swappable battery, so easy to mitigate long-term.
Whether or not those are compromises for _you_ is another story. Personally, I have wireless earbuds for use when I'm on the go and stick to using my over-the-ear headphones when I'm stationary. So no headphone jack won't be missed, haven't used mine on the C2 at all.
Wireless charging also isn't a big deal for me since I can just plug the phone into the 5V on my PinePower and limit it that way.
But hey, the exact hardware specifications aren't 100% final, so maybe there's some wiggle room for either of those.
"Technical specification subject to final confirmation upon final payment and manufacturing. Minor alterations may apply. "
Greetings, This announcement starts an update sequence where we provide information on how the Next gen Jolla Phone planning progresses. As we’re doing this together with you and for you, Sailfish Community, we want to be transparent on the progress of realising this unique European project. This would be truly a Do-It-Together (DIT) Linux smartphone which would be defined together with you all! Maybe this is even the first truly community specified Linux smartphone in the world? First of all,...
@me @9to5linux @kikeenrique @khleedril @jolla As the goals are reached, the community is asking for strechgoal for 5k 10k and more.
3.5mm jack would be nice indeed, I can live without but as I'm recently using my 3.5 on a legion go it is very convenient tho.
Wireless Charging could maybe be added by the community as the back plates are changeble and the battery is removable. But let's see what they can add.
