In retrospect, much of the much maligned skeuomorphism was actually innocuous embellishment compared with the more dangerous impoverishments we’ve had with flat design later and Liquid Glass today.

I very much prefer looking at fake leather borders than having to look for *any sign* of borders or depth.

@morrick Right. Fake leather didn’t make the stuff harder to use. It didn’t hide UI away. There may have been a question about taste, but the majority of the underlying design fundamentals were still sound. That’s absolutely not the case with Liquid Glass. (I’m also surprised to see an increasing number of people starting to say it’s OK on iPhone. About the only platform so far where I don’t absolutely hate it is watchOS.)
