I just asked Siri to resume the living room TV, instead it turned off the lights. Great job, kids. It’s just another good reminder of why I got rid of all my HomePods.

@ChrisLawley If I was as well known as you I'd give all the reasons for why I kept them. Wouldn't matter though as the only people that seem to have a voice are those with a following, so their narrative will always trump the little guys.

Edit: Apologies, didn't mean so sound like a twat.

@richaesthetic My issues with them just kept piling up.
1. They kept turning off when I was playing music or podcasts.
2. AirPlay was getting flaky.
3. Siri never worked for even the most basic home controls.

I used to be the biggest fan of them and was really upset when Apple killed the 1st gen ones before coming out with a replacement. I had 2 of the 1st gen ones, 2 of the 2nd gen ones, and 4 minis all throughout my house. But they just kept getting worse and worse. Loving my Sonos stuff.

@ChrisLawley I'd like to know what environmental differences can impact users experiences so much. I use them daily, and I'm not saying Siri has never misunderstood me, but it happens so infrequently it isn't a pain point. Past that, if I didn't have homepods, I'd never wake up on time for work lol.
@richaesthetic @ChrisLawley
@ChrisLawley Same. A few years ago I had two Minis that were very flaky until I upgraded my network hardware. Now they are rock solid and I’ve since bought 8 more 😬
