Is @fread an alternative/as good as @openvibe?

I don't have any experience with either but though the first one is #OpenSource on GitHub I feel not confident enough to try this "unknown" app from an unknown developer.

What's your thoughts?
Is my lack in trust not needed due to the app being on #fdroid?

I'm interested in the #RSS feature at first.
And OpenVibe is not FOSS.
