“If everyone who streamed All Hell on Spotify had done so using Tidal instead, we would have received an extra £31,847.38, which would double the amount we made from streaming of the album in this time period. Or if everyone used Apple Music it would have been £12,331 more.”

Los Campesinos! break down streaming royalties. In other news, Fuck Spotify.

Los Campesinos!
@jonhicks that's crazy. I've been using Spotify for years. It doesn't seem that much better than alternatives, though. Fuck, I'd switch if it meant supporting indie artists. Maybe Deezer or Tidal.
@LMNOChris @jonhicks I switched to Tidal (freaking autocorrect) a while back and it's been great. The quality of audio is significantly better, even on Bluetooth earbuds and absolutely noticeable with my janky ear drums.
@LMNOChris If you can live with the interface, Qobuz pays the most
@jonhicks @LMNOChris I chose Qobuz a couple of years ago for different reasons, one the amount it payed the artists and another because it was a small company.
@jonhicks I signed up for a two month trial for Tidal and copied over my library. If I don't like it I'll try that next. I listen to way too much indie to not care. Gotta support the creators 🤘
