Frank Zappa considered himself a classical conservative in the era of Reagan
And?
And did you know Sudan has the most pyramids of any country in the world?

Cool quote, but incorrect.

What is considered a deviation from the norm is HIGHLY subjective, a society where the norm is to embrace new ideas would be the opposite of this quote.

Even a society with norms that are more conservative, progress is being made, though quite slow.

There are also times when norms have been challenged, and ended with disaster, just look at OceanGate’s Titan, Stockton Rush deviated from the norms of deep water submersibles, and no progress was made, meanwhile other subs built on existing norms have made a lot of progress

OceanGate’s Titan, Stockton Rush deviated from the norms of deep water submersibles

They reused a vehicle with a broken hull 9 times, that’s not deviating from the norms it’s fucking inanity.

That is absolutely deviating from the norms, to the point of insanity
You’re reaching with that word. If I slipped, fell, and cracked my head open you wouldn’t say I deviated from the norms of standing.
Ofcourse I am, that is my point, norms are subjective regarding your example it is a technicallity but you could absolutely argue that a guy slipping and falling is deviating from the norms of standing.
Norms are intersubjective—neither purely individual opinions nor mind-independent facts, but rather constituted by shared social understandings. They’re “real” in that they genuinely constrain and guide behavior, but they exist only through collective recognition.
Positive feedback is an active choice. It is impossible to create positive change from negative feedback.

How would that look like in cases of absolute evil? For instance, Epstein and his island.

To throw everybody involved in jail forever would be a positive change. What kind of positive feedback would create more positive change?

Honest question, really

People can change. To throw someone in jail forever does not make anything better in practice. It is a gross injustice for the person. There are far more effective methods than forever paying to house someone in a primitive system of petty retribution that does not work. That entire system is a failure of negative feedback in need of reform. Instead you make every one of their victims a financial dependency for life. The person is then stuck paying each victim a large sum and then a percentage of wealth and income for the rest of their life with no way to stop that financial burden. That would be far worse than alimony and ultimately creates positive change for the victims. Regardless, the entire issue of sexuality is extremely flawed and unscientific. The age of majority based upon the age when cognitive male children are large enough to carry the kit of primitive human mass murder orgies is not moral, ethical, or scientific at all. The only ages of scientific relevance in humans are puberty and cognitive adulthood at the age of 25. Scientifically, sexual adulthood is puberty. The implications of childbearing at such a young age is a serious issue and inhibits cognitive development, but how such issues are navigated is complex. The tribalistic dogma is actually what causes the most harm through social stigma. This greater issue needs a better resolution. The exploitation of cognitive children that are easily manipulated in mass murder orgies is a much larger ethical blunder for the future to judge, and will greatly alter the perspective on this issue of sexual dogma. These issues could be addressed in ways that create positive change. The current system is layers upon layers of ineffective negative feedback and spurious cultural norms. Human exceptionalism is the underlying cultural issue, because we have not matured to the point of shedding the hubris of the various mythos and dogmatic tribalism.

Politics is the entertainment division of the military industrial complex.

Frank Zappa was awesome. I wonder if he ever hung out with George Carlin, I feel like that chat would be amazing.

They don’t need no education…
Cool, but you still went to that island and have to go to jail mr president
Without deviation from the norm, sigma = 0
That’s why Cliff never got a better job.
