Help with email + alias provider - Lemmy.World
My Proton pass subscription is coming to an end, and I am looking for
alternative email + alias My requirements are: Private European (or at least,
not US and with a good mission) Thunderbird/3rd party support for mail Bitwarden
integration (for creating new aliases on the fly) 2+ non random emails (so I can
unify my profesional and personal mails) For the moment I am eyeing either Tuta
(free) or Mailbox (light) + addy.io [http://addy.io] (UK, but there arent many
options Ive seen on alias services), with the idea to increase the tier of both
email if/when required. More leaning towards Mailbox light as it covers the
multiple emails for cheaper. Any sugestion?

Should I try to reconnect with a friend who's chosen to self isolate? - Lemmy.World
Long story short. Friend with history is body and mental issues (mainly
depression). In moved to a different country, so we talked less. For the past
two year things went very one sided. I would text her and get reply much later.
Never able to meet when I was in town. Then, nothing. No answers at all. Text or
calls. Friends tell me similar story. I keep texting sporadically, sometimes
calling. After months I get a response. She’s crying and saying shes sorry for
not replying, that’s she’s not well in general and needs time. Problems with
work, relationships, family and some tragedies all in short time. That was
months ago. Part of me thinks to give space, but another is worried because
she’s avoiding our common friends too. The only way to reach to her or even know
how she is would be through her family, which is very intrusive. Any advice?
rootless backup or rootless podman volumes?

rootless backup or rootless podman volumes? - Lemmy.World
I am moving from Docker to rootless podman and one thing that’s surprising to me
is that podman can create files that my user is, seemingly, not allowed to even
read, so I need root to backup them. For example, this one created by the
postgres service of immich: -rw-------. 1 525286 525286 1.6K Oct 2 20:16
/var/home/railcar/immich/postgres/pg_stat_tmp/global.stat Is this expected in
general (not for immich in particular)? Is there a single solution to solve this
of does it have to be built in the images? It really feels wrong that I can
start a container that will create files I am not allowed to even read.
Pasting images in Flatpak applications, what permissions are needed?

Pasting images in Flatpak applications, what permissions are needed? - Lemmy.world
I have installed a few chat applications through flatpak (teams with Edge and
“Whatsapp for Linux”). In both cases I can’t paste images or drag files. I can
paste text and I can upload files through the GUI. I imagine this is likely due
to a permission that can be set through Flatseal. Anybody can help?
