What is the best kind of pie? How should it be served?

I'm torn between rustic apple pie (with the big apple chunks, flaky crust, and crumbly topping), served with a bunch of French vanilla ice cream, and chicken pot pie (with oodles of fat and sodium), served with way more than my stomach can fit.

@alice The best pie is a double-crust salmon pie, « tourte au saumon Â» in French.

It has puff pastry crust on top and bottom, and you can decorate it nicely with small fishes of extra puff pastry on the top crust.

@Sobex @alice totally agreed, provided you ditch the salmon part of the pie.

(For the sweet dessert pie, I recommend a blueberry (single-crust) pie, with pâte sablée, however).
