TIL: there is a 6MW "tidal stream energy" plant off the coast of Scotland (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MeyGen) which apparently actually supplies energy to the normal grid; and there are also plans to extend the plant.

To me as a total layperson this sounds like a great way to complement other renewable energy sources, since tidal water flow should more reliable than wind and sun.

@ollibaba Research what an AMOC collapse could do in causing the Greenland Ice Sheets, to melt toward the UK and Northern Europe. Baseload power is a priority, not secondary/complimentary energy sourcing.
