Vladimir CamposJust found out that, of the 364 GB of disk space that I am currently using on my Mac, 101 GB is dedicated to my #Obsidian vault. Or, 109 GB if I count the vaults I use to record my YouTube videos.
Kristoffer Garshol@vladcampos I thought my vault was massive either 15k files and 4.9 GB in size. Don’t store many images though. Yours is truly huge. How responsive is obsidian while using that giant vault? What gives that it became that size?
@garshol It's basically my entire file system apart from photos and music. The idea is to simplify synchronization and backup of everything I have on my computer. I talk about it in a blog post (link below). And no, it doesn't slow down Obsidian. At least I don't have any complaints regarding using the app. And I use it a lot.
Marcin Jakubowski@vladcampos @garshol I still stick to Evernote, because I can decide what is stored offline on my iPhone and what is not. How did you solve it with Obsidian? I cannot imagine you sync everything.
@jakmarcin @garshol I filter the notes using Syncthing rules, but Obsidian Sync has this feature as well. You can choose what you want in each device.
